Dear Students,

Welcome to Summer School 2005.

We are all looking forward to another happy, sunny year.  It is lovely that we already have so many returners booked and we are also glad to welcome many new girls.

Two of our former Students who are now Assistantes, Sarah and Hind have become good friends through Heathfield. They have just met up in Kuwait and they sent us this lovely photo and a very friendly letter to students new and old.

We are addicted to Heathfield!

Why Heathfield Summer School? Why not another summer school? There are thousands of them! Well, we know an answer. At Heathfield we became friends! For us Heathfield is a part of our life that’s why we return every year. Through Heathfield we made a lot of friends, our friendship was built there and through all that we could even meet in Kuwait now. We could even say that a summer without Heathfield would be horrible!

At Heathfield you can meet girls from all around the world, you can take part in an enormous range of activities and you can improve your English in lessons and by having fun with your new international friends.

By saying lessons you might think of school – don’t worry, lessons at Heathfield are fun. You will love them and look forward to attending lessons every day.

But not only lessons are fun, also activities are.

Are you the sporty kind of person? You can play basketball, volleyball, tennis, squash, .table tennis, rounders, do archery, trampolining, kayaking, aerobics, go swimming, cycling or dancing.

Are you the creative person? What about art, hair and beauty, cookery, jewellery-, product making or drama then? Or are you just the cool person who loves music, reading or yoga? At Heathfield you can do all and even more!!

Well, this was only a short glance into life at Heathfield. Does it sound interesting to you? Believe us, it will even be better! So why don’t you try it?

We are looking forward to seeing you all this summer!

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING THIS SUMMER???

By popular request we are going back to BRIGHTON (www.tourism.brighton.co.uk) so a nice seaside walk along the famous Pier and a look at the extraordinary Brighton Pavilion (www.royalpavilion.org.uk ).  As we did a short trip to OXFORD (www.oxfordcity.co.uk) last year we shall do a full day this summer and we shall also have two nice trips to LONDON (www.visitlondon.com ) including a trip on the River Thames.  We will also go down to the lovely city of WINCHESTER (www.visitwinchester.co.uk )which has a beautiful cathedral to visit set in beautiful grounds and some excellent shops.  Some trips to CHESSINGTON, the World of Adventures (www.chessington.co.uk ), WINDSOR (www.windsor.gov.uk ) and the riverside town of HENLEY-ON-THAMES (www.henley-on-thames.org ) complete our day excursion programme.

We shall have the usual fun at the Roller Disco, Percussion Workshop, Dance and Fashion Show, Discos and Country Dance.

And Tracey will wow you all with her flower arrangement so you will be able to make either dried or fresh arrangements to take home! There will also be jewelry making, drawing and painting as well as modeling and craft with card and paper. You will again be able to make a range of beauty products such as lip balm, shampoos and skin cream as well as cooking some delicious cakes and sweets. We will offer you some relaxing yoga as well as our full range of sports.

And for the older students after requests from several of you, we plan an international Cultural Activity – perhaps based on a Mini United Nations! We shall be asking our Assistantes to plan it so Eve, Cecile, Sarah and Hind will have to start thinking!

WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU THIS SUMMER!
